by Anton Wilhelm Florentin von Zuccalmaglio (1803 - 1869), as Wilhelm von Waldbrühl

Liebchens Schätze
Language: German (Deutsch)
O wie ist mein Liebchen reich,
reich vor allen Frauen!
Ihre Äuglein sternengleich
unter gold'nen Brauen!
Tief hinein
in den Schrein
ihrer treuen Seele
schau' ich sonder Hehle.

Wunderbares Rosenbeet
lacht von ihren Wangen,
deren Duft mich schon umweht,
weckend Glutverlangen.
Rosenglut
lockend ruht
auf den süßen Lippen,
necket mich zu nippen.

Fließend Gold, so rollt ihr Haar
zu dem Elfenbeine
ihres Busens wunderbar,
bildet Schlingen feine.
Schmacht' ich doch
in dem Joch
dieser gold'nen Ketten
ohne mich zu retten!

Wie sie reicher an Kleinod,
wird sie immer kärger,
birgt die Schätze mir, die Not
schwillt am Herzen ärger.
Wie es bangt
und verlangt,
glühet immer wärmer,
steht es immer ärmer.
