by Christian Morgenstern (1871 - 1914)

Die Allee
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ich liebe die geraden Alleen
Mit ihrer stolzen Flucht
Ich meine sie münden zu sehen
In blauer Himmelsbucht.

Ich bin sie im Flug zu Ende
Und land' in der Ewigkeit
Wie eine leise Legende
Verklingt in mir die Zeit.

Meine Flügel atmet Weiten,
Die Menschenkraft nicht kennt:
Groß aus Unendlichkeiten
Flammt furchtbar das Firmament.

Confirmed with Christian Morgenstern, Melancholie, Berlin: Bruno Cassirer, 1906
