In des Südens heißen Zonen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ITA
In des Südens heißen Zonen
Blumen giebt es köstlich schön.
Eine aber ist vor allen
Wunderherrlich anzuseh'n.

In dem blendend weißen Kelche
Eine Taube [man erblickt]1,
Und der fromme Christenwand'rer
Andachtsvoll die Blume pflückt.

Spirito santo ist ihr Name,
Spirito santo, weicher Klang,
Spirito Santo, Himmelsblume,
Dufte lieblich meinem Sang!

Spirito santo, sonnumstrahlet,
Blühest rein, wie ein Gebet!
Süßer, leiser Friedersodem,
Schöne Blume, dich umweht.

Still in deinem weißen Kelche,
Spirito santo, weilt die Ruh';
Leise flüstre, Spirito santo,
Meinem Herzen Frieden zu.

Spirito santo
Language: Italian (Italiano)  after the German (Deutsch)
Nelle calde regioni del sud
nascono fiori di rara bellezza.
Ma uno è, più di tutti,
meraviglioso a vedersi.

Nella bianca splendida corolla
ecco una colomba incantevole,
ed il pio pellegrino,
con devozione, coglie il fiore:

Spirito santo è il suo nome,
Spirito santo, dolce suono!
Spirito santo, fiore del cielo,
profuma d'amore il mio canto.

Spirito santo, ai raggi del sole
fiorisci puro come un preghiera!
Dolce, tenue alito di pace,
spira, bel fiore, su di te.

Tacita nella tua candida corolla,
Spirito santo, vive la pace;
e pace prega, in tenue
mormorio, per il mio cuore.
