by Annette Elisabeth, Freiin von Droste-Hülshoff (1797 - 1848)

Gesegnet
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wer bist du doch, o Mädchen,
Du mit dem schwarzen Schleier,
Und mit dem schwarzen Sklaven,
Der weißen Sklavin du?

Wie Sterne deine Augen
Durch deines Schleiers Nächte,
Dein Gang wie der Gazelle,
Wie Palme die Gestalt.

Gesegnet sind die Wellen
Des Bades, die dich kühlen,
Gesegnet die Gewänder,
Umschließend deine Huld.

Und siebenfach gesegnet
Der Sklave, dem du winkest,
Der deinen Tritten lauschet,
Der deine Stimme hört.

Und tausendfach gesegnet
Die Sklavin, der du lächelst,
An ihre Schulter lehnend
Dein unverschleiert Haupt.
