O du des himmlischen Reiches Kind
Language: German (Deutsch)
O du des himmlischen Reiches Kind,
du Fremdling in nordischen Moose,
von Düften umhüllet lieblich und lind,
des Ostens holdeste Rose.

Dir gab der leuchtende Sonnenschein
der Farbe Schimmern und Prunken,
vom Urquell des Lichtes in dich hinein
die Strahlen hast du getrunken.

Zunächst dem Kelch entfaltest du
die Blätter wie goldene Schwingen,
in deines Herzens träumende Ruh'
vermag sein Auge zu dringen.

Die würzigen Lüfte nur flüstern ringsum,
dass hier ein Geheimnis sich hehle,
doch hüllt sich in Schatten das Heiligthum
der schüchternen Blumenseele.
