by Friedrich Güll (1812 - 1879)

Abendsegen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die Abendglocken ferne
läuten den Tag zur Ruh.
Die Augen tun auf die Sterne,
die Blumen die Augen zu.
Die Vöglein in den Bäumen,
sie schweigen alle still,
ein jedes heimlich träumen
vom goldnen Morgen will.

Die Schiffe ruhn im Hafen,
keine Welle regt sich mehr,
so geh auch du nun schlafen
und bange nicht so sehr.
Und laß den Vater sorgen,
der über den Sternen wacht.
Er segnet mit Freuden den Morgen,
er segnet mit Frieden die Nacht.
