by Karl Sigmund Freiherr von Seckendorff (1744 - 1785)

Das Thal der Liebe
Language: German (Deutsch)
O seeligs, seeligs Thal!
Thal der Liebe mir einmal!
O heiliger, heiliger Baum!
Unsrer ersten Schwüre Raum!
Wo -- erröthend und -- erblödend
süß ihr Herz zerfloß,
und in Wort und Blicken welche Liebe goß!

Corinnas süßer Schwur
War, ach! war ein Zephir nur!
Sie kennt nicht mehr den Baum,
unsrer ersten Schwüre Raum!
Schmeicheleyen, Tändeleyen
Lokten sie von mir;
zogen, ach! das leichte Mädchen weg von mir.

Ihr Blümchen in dem Thal,
trauert, trauert allzumal!
Du Nachtigall im Baum!
Klage meines Lebens Traum!
Girrt, ihr treuen Turteltäubchen,
Seufzer in mein Ach!
Daß die Falsche hier so süß das Herz mir brach!
