by Eduard Mörike (1804 - 1875)

Gutenbergs Erfindung
Language: German (Deutsch)
"Ein großer Fund, gewiß! -- Und doch,
Wenn man die Sache so bedenkt, sie lag
Verdammt nah, mein ich."
                               O sehr wahr! Item:
Als sich der liebe Gott damals besann,
Wie er die Welt erschaffen möcht',
War nichts natürlicher, deucht mir,
Als grünes Gras und Bäume allerhand
Hervor aus der Erde wachsen zu lassen,
Auch oberhalb das blaue Firmament
Hübsch auszustaffieren mit goldnen Gestirnen,
Damit sie leuchten auf ewige Jahr
Schafsköpfen und gescheiten Leuten.
