by Heinrich Wilhelm Vierordt (1855 - 1945)

Das Kornschiffchen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Um Mitternacht im Mondenschein
wogen im Winde die Ähren;
Leise huscht drüber das Kornschifflein,
wie wenn es Seefluten wären.

Um Mitternacht im Mondenschein
schaukelt's im Kornwellentanze,
seine Maste schimmern wie Elfenbein
und im Perlmutterglanze.

Um Mitternacht im Mondenschein
wiegt sich's bald unten, bald oben:
Seine Segel Libellenflügelein,
seine Taue von Spinnenweb gewoben.

Um Mitternacht im Mondenschein
die Segel schillernd schwellen,
Nachts fährt der König der Korngeistlein
auf den bleichen, den silbernen Wellen.
