Der Tag erwacht im Strahlenkranze,
und ihn begrüßt der Vögel Lied.
Wie überhaucht von Purpurglanze
die Erd' in stiller Wonne glüht!
Sieh, wie sich leise flüsternd neigen
so Blüth als Blatt auf schlanken Zweigen,
sie sprechen's aus in stillen Weisen,
was laut der Vögel Lieder preisen.

Es soll auch dich aus Morgenträumen
erwecken meines Liedes Klang,
und sanft hervor aus Blüthenbäumen
erschalle dir ein Lobgesang!
O neige lächelnd dich hernieder,
gieb Gruß und Blick für Tön' und Lieder,
es schwingen sich ja in die Lüfte
zu deinem Preis nur Tön' und Düfte.
