by Svetozár Hurban Vajanský (1847 - 1916)

Letí havran, letí...
Language: Slovak (Slovenčina)
Letí havran, letí, radostne si kráka,
nesie krm pre deti, pre rodinku svoju,
čo tam v hniezde čaká.

Beží vlk a vyje, mäsa kus má v pysku
pre vĺčatá svoje, čo hladujú, mrznú
v dlhom zimovisku.

Lež ta v lono hory nejde nik, neletí,
čože to za tvory, v biede bez pomoci?
To slovenské deti, to slovenské deti.
