Ding, Dang
Language: Danish (Dansk)
        Ding, Dang,
            Klokkeklang!
Nu segner mat i Graven
            Det gamle Aar
            Med hvide Haar,
Og brudt er Vandringsstaven.
De bliver hos de Tusind lagt,
Som holdt paa Jorderige Vagt;
Det har os Sorg og Glæde bragt, —
Vi sige Tak for Gaven.

            Ding, Dang,
            Klokkeklang!
Nu døbe vi det unge,
            Det spæde Aar,
            Som Øiet slaaer
Just op, imens vi sjunge.
Dog — det maa vandre uden Navn;
Vi veed ei, hvad det har i Favn.
Hvad bringer det? Fryd eller Savn?
Det Lette eller Tunge?

            Kling, Klang,
            Bægerklang!
I alle Verdens Zoner
            Det unge Aar
            En Hilsen faaer,
Et Vivat fra Millioner.
De hilse det med Druens Blod,
De suge Kraft for Haand og Fod,
For mandeligt at tage mod
Dets Rosentornekroner.

            Sing, Sang,
            Citharklang!
Jeg raske Greb vil tage!
            Jeg veed en Barm
            Saa kjærlig varm,
Hvorhen min Sang tør drage.
Som Solen skinner paa et Glar
Gjenstraalende saa reen og klar,
Saa faaer min Sang et yndigt Svar
I Smiil og Ord tilbage!
