Abschied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Hörst Du die Rosse schnauben?
Sie mahnen an's Scheiden Dich,
Sie wollen das Liebste mir rauben,
Noch einmal o küsse mich!

O küsse noch einmal die Thränen
Vom nassen Auge mir fort,
Laß von Dir umschlungen mich wähnen,
Du bliebest am Heimathsort.

Doch horch! schon ruft die Fanfare,
Leb' wohl denn, vergiß mein nicht!
Denk, daß ich Deiner stets harre,
Bis sterbend mein Auge bricht!
