Laß die Flügel wehn, 
Mußt mir nun bei meinem Kind 
Wieder Wache stehn! 

Sing' ihm vor zu guter Nacht 
Deinen Segensgruß! 
Daß es schlummre sanft und sacht, 
Gieb ihm deinen Kuß! 

Schütz' und schirm's und mach' es mir, 
Englein, rein und fromm, 
Daß es einst hinauf zu dir 
In den Himmel komm!
