Der Schnee rinnt wieder von der Berge Haupt, 
Die Sonne hat ihn letzter Kraft beraubt. 

Im Blachfeld blitzt der Pflug  --  die braune Erde  
Harrt wintermüde längst des neuen "Werde". 

Von Busch und Sträuchern weiße Wimpel wehn,  
Viel tote Schönheit lechzt nach Auferstehn. 

O seht, verschwender Lenz, er kehret wieder  --  
Die Mutter Erde reckt die schlaffen Glieder. 

Die Birke webt ihr lichte Hochzeitschleier, 
Und alles drängt zu hoher Lebensfeier.
