Lass mich in dein Auge blicken
Language: German (Deutsch)
Lass mich in dein Auge blicken
und von dort mein Glück erschau'n,
rede nicht! es könnt' vergehen
dieser wundervolle Traum!

Lass mich in dein Auge blicken,
denn da bin ich fromm und gut,
innig betend will ich danken,
dass Gott mir so Liebes thut.

Lass mich in dein Auge blicken,
herrlicher kann nicht mehr sein
als der Augen seelenvoller,
glückberauschter heller Schein.

Lass mich in dein Auge blicken
und an diesem Blick vergeh'n,
kann's denn Schön'res auch noch geben
als der Augen Flammen seh'n!

Aus den Augen schöpf' ich alles,
denn sie sind das Höchste mir;
und für alle diese Wonne
kann ich jemals danken dir!
