Unser Stern
Language: German (Deutsch)
Freudenhymnen lasst erklingen[,]
Jubellieder stimmet an,
Denn es bricht auf goldnen Schwingen
Uns der schönste Tag heran.
Und der schönsten alle Sterne
Glänzt am lichten Firmament[;]
In die Heimath, in der Ferne
Ihn mit Jubel jeder nennt.
Kaiserbraut[,] die hohe Holde[,]
Ist der Stern so hell und rein[;]
Zeichnet Ihn mit klarem Golde
Euch ins frohe Herz hinein.
Und er prange leuchtend immer
In des Volkes treuer Brust
Als des Glückes Zauberschimmer
Und der Freude reinste Lust.

Our star
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Let hymns of joy ring out[,]
Strike up songs of rejoicing,
For the most beautiful day arises
For us upon golden pinions.
And the most beautiful of all stars
Sparkles upon the bright firmament[;]
At home, in distant lands,
Everyone speaks of it with rejoicing.
The Emperor's bride, the exalted fair one[,]
Is the star so radiant and pure[;]
With pure gold engrave [the star's image]
Into your happy heart.
And may it ever stand resplendent
In the faithful bosom of the people
As the magical shimmer of good fortune
And the purest bliss of happiness.
