by Johann Jakob Ignaz Sendtner (1784 - 1833)

Friede lächelt das zufried'ne Land
Language: German (Deutsch)
Friede lächelt das zufried'ne Land.
Ruh verbreitet sich durch alle Leben.
Herz um Herz vereint das theure Band,
Das der Freundschaft und die Liebe weben.

Und der Himmel glänzt so rein und blau;
Und die Sonne strahlt so hell und heiter;
Und die Lüfte wehn so kuhl und lau;
Und so lieblich duften Gras und Kräuter!

Wie so hold das blaue Veilchen nickt;
Wie die königliche Rose strahlet!
Wie so sanft das Mädchens Auge blickt;
Wie so jugendlich sein Busen wallet!

Lasst euch Blümchen, die ihr lieblich glüht,
Lasst euch traut an meinen Busen drücken;
Mag der Himmel dran, wenn ihr verblüht,
Mir ein sanftes, gutes Mädchen schicken.
