by Charles Polydore de Mont (1857 - 1931)

De rozen geuren ‑ zoo rood als rozen
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
De rozen geuren - zoo rood als rozen,
de lelies fleuren.... o lelieblank!
Geen lelies fleuren, geen rozen blozen,
Du, bloem der bloemen, gelijk uw wang.

O laat me u zoenen, o laat me u koozen,
du, mondje, bied mij uw godendrank.
De rozen geuren.... zoo rood als rozen,
de lelies fleuren.... o zilverblank!

Wat, zuchten, tranen? - Geen zuchten loozen
mijn heete minne mijn leven lang!
Van rusten weet ik noch van verpoozen:
dít kusje is liefde, dit ándre is dank!

De rozen geuren - zoo rood als rozen!
