Noch einmal deine Hand 
und gelt: Du denkst an mich,
wenn's Abend ist wie jetzt, 
wie jetzt .

Es wird ja lange sein,
eh's wieder wird wie heute,
und Tage werden sich an Tage drängen
und klingen werden sie und farbig sein und lachen,
dann lache mit.

Es wird ja lange sein,
vielleicht wird's nimmer so wie heute,
wie heut' .

Leb' wohl,
gib mir die Hand,
und denke dran,
wenn's  Abend  wird 
Du !
