Ständchen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Es ist umsonst, drum gute Nacht,
nun kann ich weiter geh'n;
die Fenster sind schon zugemacht,
woran die Blumen steh'n.

Doch nein, wohin kein Auge dringt,
da weiß das Herz noch Rat;
es macht, sobald sein Lied erklingt,
sich heimlich Bahn und Pfad.

So töne denn, mein Herzenssang,
durch Tür und Schindeldach
wie österlicher Glockenklang
ins stille Schlafgemach.

Und kannst du sie erwecken nicht,
so bleib' am Fenster steh'n,
da wird sie als Vergissmeinnicht
dich morgens blühen seh'n.
