Meidroom
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
Ik droomde een droom van Meiseizoen: -
Ik lag in loovr en zoende 't groen.
Lijk lang geleên was 't lente in mij,
Zoo wild, zoo frisch, zoo jong, zoo blij!

Zoo lentig lokte merelfluit,
Zoo koel doorklokte brongeluid
De wind-doorwuifde wildernis,
Zoo blij, zoo jong, zoo wild, zoo frisch!

Ik rolde in mos en varenveêr,
In eenvoud éen met de aarde weer
En lachte en weende en juichte en zong,
Zoo frisch, zoo blij, zoo wild, zoo jong!

Kom weer, o teêre Meiedroom!
En 'k zing, gelijk in weiedoom
Een leeuwrik melodieënmild,
Zoo frisch, zoo blij, zoo jong, zoo wild!

Confirmed with De Gids. Jaargang 66 (1902), page 141.
