Am Steuer
Language: German (Deutsch)
Meines Schiffes Steuer führ ich.
Weiß allein, wohin es geht.
Und die schweren Ruder rühr ich
Still und stet.

Einsam in die Ferne trag ich
Meines Willens stolze Wehr
Und nach Land und Leuten frag ich
Längst nicht mehr.

Hinter mir im tiefen blauen
Wasser glitzert eine Spur.
Mögen Freund und Feinde schauen,
Wo ich fuhr.
