by Joannes Reddingius (1873 - 1944)

Regenliedje
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
' k Luister naar de regendroppen,
die aan ' t hooge venster kloppen,
' k Luister naar het windgeweld,
dat door de oude linden snelt.

Wat een vreugd heb ik gedragen
tegemoet mijn blijde dagen,
en hoe dikwijls ging bezwaard
ik te zwerven over de aard .

Altijd mocht ik weder stijgen
waar de smarte - stemmen zwijgen ,
' k Vond in stilte's heiligdom
van mijzelven iets weerom.

Confirmed with Joannes Reddingius, Licht; nieuwe gedichten, Hilversum 1923 p.10
