by Ludwig Bowitsch (1818 - 1881)

Der theure Ort
Language: German (Deutsch)
[Dort]1 draußen auf dem Anger steht
Ein alter Weidenbaum:
Da lehn' ich viele Stunden lang
Allein mit meinem Traum.

Dann schreit ich, wie ich oft gethan,
Am Felsenbach vorbei:
Und unten singt das Mühlenrad
Die alte Melodei.

Auf hohem Berge bleib ich stehn
Und schau ins Dorf hinab --
Mich dünkts, ich bin ein irrer Geist
Und unten liegt mein Grab.
