Wie tief doch die Felder schweigen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wie tief doch die Felder schweigen,
Wie stehen die Berge so weit!
In dunklen rauschenden Zweigen
schläft epheuumsponnen die Zeit!

Kühl flüstert das Mondlicht hernieder,
so ist [unleserlich] fremd und vertraut
Die Nacht dehnt die strahlenden Glieder
und wartet als lächelnde Braut

Stets wird der Sommer die Schwingen
entfalten und leuchtend vergehn
Und ewig ein heimliches Singen
die silbernen Nächte durchwehn.

Und tausend Wunder erschienen
Beschneit mit schimmerndem Schnee
doch irgendwo fliesst ein Weinen
von Sehnsucht in stillem Weh
