by Nils Collett Vogt (1864 - 1937)

Smaapiger
Language: Norwegian (Bokmål)
Our translations:  FRE
Enndnu ingen Blomster sprungne,
ingen Elskovsange sungne!
Endnu ingen Røst, som kalder
mig «en liden Hjærtenskjær».
Alting lytter, alting bier,
raaber paa mig, naar det tier;
men straks Aftenrødme falder,
lyser vemodstræt dens Skjær.
Snart i Sorg og snart i Smil.
Mangelunede April!

Hvorfor svulmer Melodier
høiest i mig, naar det tier!
Hvorfor standser jeg fortrollet
af den Drøm, hvori jeg gaar?
Endnu ingen Sange sungne!
Ingen Elskovsblomster sprungne!
Aa, jeg vilde, at de folded
ud sig nu i Sol og Vaar
snart af Sorg og snart af Smil!
Løftebringende April!
