by Ernst Hardt (1876 - 1947)

Du Hündchen aus Purpur, aus Safran
Language: German (Deutsch)
Du Hündchen aus Purpur, aus Safran,
Hündchen aus Gold und Smaralt,
Dich schuf der Riese Urgan
In Avaluns Zauberwald

Purpur und Safran,
Gold und Smaralt,
Im Monde gegossen
Hat Zaubergewalt,
Wo wer aus Liebe weint.

Herr Tristan, der liebende, treue
Schlug da den Urgan zu Tod
Und raubte Petikreue
Für sehnende Liebesnot.

Herr Tristan der gütige wollte,
Dass ich nicht weinend schier
Vor Tränen vergehen sollte.
Drum sandt er das Hündchen mir.

Herr Tristan ist untreu worden,
Gott soll es strafen an ihm,
Daß er mich will ermorden.
Doch sterbend noch küss ich ihn.

Isot die Blonde,
Wie Gold und Smaralt,
Hat liebend vorm Tode
Wohl Zaubergewalt,
Wann einst Herr Tristan stirbt.
