by Georg Friedrich Albert Möser (1835 - 1900)

Eh' matt vom Lebensfrohn
Language: German (Deutsch)
Eh' matt vom Lebensfrohn
Die Pulse mir ersterben,
Gebleicht durch Schicksalshohn
Die Wangen sich entfärben,
Eh' ich gebrochen sinke
Und Lethe's Fluthen trinke,
Möcht' ich noch einmal werden
Um süßen Minnelohn.

In goldnem Lockenhaar
Möcht' ich noch einmal wühlen,
Verzaubert ganz und gar
Ein Herz an meinem fühlen,
In Küssen mich berauschen
Und süße Worte tauschen,
Eh' ich im Grab, im kühlen,
Muß schlummern immerdar.
