Freund Studio eilt der Heimat zu
und trällert Schelmenlieder,
da sieht er eine schöne Maid,
schon hält er sie am Mieder.

„Kennst du mich noch?" so rief der Bursch'
mit Kosen und mit Scherzen;
„Du stakst, Treuliebchen, alle Zeit
gar tief in meinem Herzen!”

„Ob ich Euch kenn'?” lacht's Töchterlein
vom Wirt zur gold'nen Weide.
„Ihr steckt bei uns vom vor'gen Jahr
gar tief noch in der Kreide!”

„Du kennst mich wohl! Du kennst mich wohl!
Du stakst, Treuliebchen, alle Zeit
gar tief in meinem Herzen!”
