by Stefan Zweig (1881 - 1942)

Landschaft
Language: German (Deutsch)
Nacht. - Die schlummernden Saaten hauchen
Heißen sinnbetäubenden Duft,
Dünste steigen in silbernen Rauchen
Aus der schwülen stockenden Luft.

Fernher droht ein Gewitterleuchten
Über dem dunkelnden Horizont.
Wolken umkreisen gleich aufgescheuchten
Vögeln den gelblich glimmenden Mond.

Und die Donner grollen mit schweren
Rufen in das harrende Land.
Über die reifen rauschenden Ähren
Streift es wie eine schweigende Hand . . .

Confirmed with Stefan Zweig, Die frühen Kränze, Leipzig: Insel-Verlag, 1906.
