Plus blancs et plus gonflés de trésors que les tentes d'un émir, 
tes seins, ô ma bien-aimée, sont les tentes de mon amour.

Lorsque je cache, à midi, mon visage dans ta chevelure et que je cherche ton regard,
tes yeux sont les deux étoiles qui illuminent la nuit embaumée où je défaille.

Si, un jour, ô ma bien-aimée, j'apprends qu'un autre a dormi dans ta chevelure 
et que tes yeux ont éclairé le visage de ce Maudit, je ne saisirai pas mon poignard, 
je n'achèterai pas du poison, mais je sifflerai mes lévriers et j'irai sur la route de Grenade,
à l'endroit de notre premier rendez-vous.

Là j'enterrerai, pour l'éternité, le mouchoir de soie qui aura essuyé mes larmes.
