Dost thou know the flower that among the snows blossoms,
and gusts and cold of winter defies;
that opens to the sun its corolla, on the rock
of a rugged, supernal mountain?

Similarly, thou seest that here on my lip flourishes
a kiss alive, a warm kiss of love:
[despite] aging in pain, it doesn't wither ;
this kiss does not die!
