by Ramón María del Valle-Inclán y de la Peña (1866 - 1936)

En el camino
Language: Spanish (Español)
Madre, Santa María,
¿en dónde canta el ave
de la esperanza mía?...

Y vi que un peregrino
bello como Santiago,
iba por mi Camino.

Me detuve en la senda,
y respiré el ingenuo
aire de la leyenda.

Y dije mi plegaria,
y mi alma tembló toda,
oscura y milenaria.

Seguí adelante... Luego
se hizo luz en la senda
y volví a quedar ciego.

¡Ciego de luz de aurora
que en su rueca de plata
hila Nuestra Señora !

¡Orballiño fresco,
nas pallas d'o día !
¡Orballiñó, gracia
d'a Virxe María!
