by Erik Meyer-Helmund (1861 - 1932)

In allen benachbarten Gärten
Language: German (Deutsch)
In allen benachbarten Gärten,
da blühen die Rosen so schön,
in meiner Geliebten Garten
seh' ich keine einzige steh'n!

Frau Nachtigall, die schlaue,
die süße Geheimnisse weiß,
die hat mir den Grund verraten,
sie sang es mir zu ganz leis':

Die Rosen, die können nicht blühen,
denn sie vergehen vor Neid!
Weil du mit der schönsten der Rosen
genießest die seligste Freud'!
