by Nikolaus Lenau (1802 - 1850)

Aus!
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ob jeder Freude seh ich schweben
Den Geier bald, der sie bedroht;
Was ich geliebt, gesucht im Leben,
Es ist verloren oder tot.

Fort riß der Tod in seinem Grimme
Von meinem Glück die letzte Spur;
Das Menschenherz hat keine Stimme
Im finstern Rate der Natur.

Ich will nicht länger töricht haschen
Nach trüber Fluten hellem Schaum,
Hab aus den Augen mir gewaschen
Mit Tränen scharf den letzten Traum.
