by Heinrich Stieglitz (1801 - 1849)

Maigruss
Language: German (Deutsch)
Linder Hauch der Blütenkronen,
duftig Zittern im Gezweig,
Sänger, die in Wipfeln wohnen,
Blümlein am kristall'nen Teich,
könnt ihr mir denn gar nichts sagen
von dem holden Nachbarskind,
keine Antwort meinen Fragen,
ob sie mir auch wohlgesinnt?

Keinen Gruß aus ihrem Munde
für so manches Liebespfand,
auch nicht eine frohe Kunde,
ob sie meine Lieder fand?
Ach, ich möchte mit euch Blüten
in ihr off'nes Fenster weh'n,
ihren Morgentraum umhüten
und an ihrem Hauch vergeh'n!
