by Otto Haggenmacher (1843 - 1918)

Mahnung
Language: German (Deutsch)
Windet fröhlich frische Kränze,
Wo der Freude Blumen blüh'n.
Voller Lust Pokal kredenze,
Wem des Glückes Trauben glüh'n.

Ach, das Schicksal flicht der Dornen
Kranz um's Haupt uns reich genug,
Und es schöpft aus Leidesbornen
Jedem einen vollen Krug.

Alle Seufzer, alle Klagen
Bannen dunkle Loose nicht.
Was bestimmt ist, lerne tragen;
Denn der wahrhaft Weise spricht:

Windet fröhlich frische Kränze,
Wo der Freude Blumen blüh'n.
Voller Lust Pokal kredenze
Wem des Glückes Trauben glüh'n.
