Tausend Grüsse
Language: German (Deutsch)
Küsset dir ein Lüftchen fein,
Wangen oder Hände,
Denke, dass es Grüsse sein,
Die ich zu dir sende.
Tausend send' ich täglich aus,
Dass sie wehen um dein Haus,
Wie ich dein gedenke.

Kommt ein kleines Vögelein,
Zu dir hingeflogen,
Denk', es sei die Sehnsucht mein,
Die dir nachgezogen.
Höre, was sie freundlich spricht,
Und vergiss das Fernen nicht,
Der nur dein gedenket.

See also Lebewohl (Des Knaben Wunderhorn), whose fourth stanza resembles the first stanza above.
