Herrens Røst er over Vandet
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Herrens Røst er over Vandet,
Sjæle-Badet i Guds Ord,
Vand og Aand har sammenblandet
Himmel-Skaberen paa Jord:
Han, som haver Alt at sige,
Han har sagt: til Himmerige
Fødes kun af Vand og Aand!

Herrens Aand er over Vandet,
Støv ei følge kan Hans Fart,
Ordets Lyd og intet Andet
Mærkes der af Himmel-Art;
Men i Kuldet, som gienfødes,
Kiødet med dets Lyster dødes,
Aandens Frugt er Aandens Seigl!

Herrens Ord er lagt til Vandet,
Ordets Dyb er Sjælens Daab,
Af den Røst fra Fædre-Landet
Fødes Borgerskabets Haab;
Saa af Vand og Aand tillige
Indføds-Ret i Himmerige
Døbte faae, som Ordet troe!
