Cantate! Cantate!
Language: German (Deutsch)
Cantate! Cantate!
Es schwang sich der Klang
die Flur entlang;
da flogen gefiederte Sänger herbei
mit eilenden Schwingen
und ließen erklingen
ein jubelndes Liedchen zu Ehren dem Mai.1

Cantate! Cantate!
Es schwang sich der Klang
die Stadt entlang;
da klappert der Storch, [da]2 warf er geschwind
zur Esse herunter
kopfüber, kopfunter
dem Pastor ins Häuslein ein singendes Kind.1

Cantate! Cantate!
Es schwang sich der Klang
das Haus entlang.
Nun jauchzet der Kinder aufblühende Schar
ud grüßet das kleinste,
das schönste, das feinste,
und fröhlich lobsinget das Elternpaar.1
