by Julius Karl Reinhold Sturm (1816 - 1896)

Tritt mein Liebchen in den Garten
Language: German (Deutsch)
Tritt mein Liebchen in den Garten,
Werden alle Blumen laut;
Grüßend neigen sich die Rosen:
"Sei willkommen, Schwester-Braut!"

Und Maaßliebchen streckt das Köpfchen
Aus dem frischbethauten Gras:
"Seine Liebe wollt' ich messen, -
Treue Liebe hat kein Maaß."

Und die Myrthe heimlich flüsternd
Spricht: "Ich wachse Tag für Tag,
Daß man bald aus meinen Zweigen
Dir ein Kränzlein flechten mag."

Und es mahnt die Epheuranke:
"Flüchtig ist der Rose Blühn,
Schnell verwelkt das Laub der Myrthe,
Treue Lieb' ist immer grün."
