Im heimlichen Versteck, im tiefsten Hain,
da bau’n ihr Nest zwei Vögelein.
Ihr Federkleid ist grau und leis ihr Sang,
du spürst sie nicht vor all dem Sang und Klang.

Die wilde Rose blüht nur dort geheim
und hört der lust’gen Gäste Liebesreim,
und Sonnenlicht spielt durch das Laubgezelt
und sieht das große, große Glück der kleinen Welt.
