Jägerunglück
Language: German (Deutsch)
Im Walde stand ich lauernd
Mit frohem Jägermuth,
Da kam ein Reh gesprungen,
War noch ein junges Blut.

Wie's Kind oft sorglos spielet
Am steilen Felsenrand,
So nimmer Arges ahnend
Das Reh mir schussrecht stand.

Die sichre Büchse spannt' ich;
[Es]1 war's um's Reh geschehn,
[Wenn's nicht]2 mit hellen Augen
[So]3 traut auf mich gesehn.

In diese lieben Augen
Wollt' senden ich das Blei?
Die Büchse ließ ich sinken,
Und husch! [flog's]4 Reh vorbei.

[Ich tauge]5 nicht zum Jäger,
Mir pocht das Herz zu sehr;
Seh' ich so liebe Augen,
Senk' flugs ich mein Gewehr.
