by Johann Friedrich Ludwig Bobrik (1781 - 1848)

In der Nacht
Language: German (Deutsch)
Treue Liebe wacht
Durch die stille Nacht;
Und die Sehnsucht klagt,
Bis der Morgen tagt.

Bin entschlummert kaum,
Webt ein schöner Traum
Seinen Zauberkreis
Um das Herz so heiß.

Und in Seligkeit
Schwindet alles Leid;
Naht der Theuern Bild,
Das die Seel' erfüllt.

Doch entflieht der Traum,
Wie so leer der Raum!
Paradies zerstäubt!
Nur der Schmerz, er bleibt.

Confirmed with Gedichte von Friedrich Bobrik, Leipzig: F. A. Brockhaus, 1851, pages 39 - 40.
