Begegnung

Es zieht mit schmelzenden Akkorden
Ein heller Klang durch meine Brust,
Denn wißt, mir ist ein Lieb' geworden,
Ein Lieb' voll wundersüßer Lust. 

So Mancher sucht nach einem Wesen
Voll Mitgefühl für seinen Schmerz,
Ich habe mir's nicht auserlesen,
Der Augenblick warf's an mein Herz.

Wir sprachen nicht;  wie konnt' ich's wagen?
Wir sahen Beid' uns schweigen kann:
O Vieles weiß ein Blick zu sagen,
Was keine Lippe sagen kann.
