Hymne
Language: German (Deutsch)
O Geist der Töne, reg' die Schwingen
Und leih' uns deinen Flügelschlag!
Laß deine Macht an uns vollbringen,
Was deine Macht allein vermag.
Wen du in's Licht emporgehoben,
Dem schweigt der Erde banger Zwist,
Dem rauschen deine Ströme droben,
Was tief und unaussprechlich ist.

Du bist's, der Meereswogen
Zu Melodieen zwingt,
Dem hoch am Himmelsbogen
Gesang der Sterne klingt:
So schenk' auch uns hienieden
Nach Tages Müh' und Last
Den weihevollen Frieden,
Deß du die Fülle hast!

Und sieh, mit hellem Flügelschlage
Kommt leise wehend deine Macht:
Da ist, gemischt aus Lust und Klage,
Ein Strom in unsrer Brust erwacht.
Wir schau'n auf seinem dunkeln Grunde
Des Lebens Bilder, schön gereiht,
Und träumen in der flücht'gen Stunde
Den goldnen Traum der Ewigkeit.
