by Caroline von Günderrode (1780 - 1806)

Des Knaben Morgengruß
Language: German (Deutsch)
Morgenlicht! Morgenlicht
Scheint mir hell ins Gesicht!
Wenn ich Tag kommen seh,
Wird mir leid und weh;
Denn im Grabe liegt
Ein jung Mägdelein;
Des Frühroths Schein
Sieht traurig hinein
In das enge Kämmerlein.
Mögt wekken das Jungfräulein.
Das kann vom Schlaf nicht erstehn,
Morgenlicht nicht sehn;
Drum wenn ich Frühroth kommen seh,
Wird mir leid und weh.
