by Rudolph Baumbach (1840 - 1905)

Mein theures Land
Language: German (Deutsch)
Mein theures Land, aus dem ich schied,
dir klingt mein Sang, dich grüsst mein Lied,
ich sing's am fernen Meere.

Soweit der Erdengarten reicht,
kein Land dir, meiner Heimath,
gleicht an Wonne und an Ehre,

Du bist so lieb, du bist so traut
Urahne bist du mir und Braut,
du wunderschöne Fraue!

Der Tannwald ist dein Mantel gut,
der blaue Himmel ist dein Hut,
dein Schemel grüne Aue.

Und drückt aufs Haupt der Vinter dir
der diamant'nen Krone Zier,
und hüllt die stolzen Glieder

in silberweissen Hermelin;
dann beug' ich mich o Königen,
an dächtig vor dir nieder.
