Du lieber Gott, in dunkler Nacht 
Hat mich mein Engelein bewacht, 
Drum dank ich Dir mit Herz und Mund, 
Mein Gott, in dieser Morgenstund'! 

O Gott, laß doch mein Engelein 
Auch heute immer bei mir sein, 
Daß mich den ganzen langen Tag 
Kein Leid, noch Unfall treffen mag. 

Mein Gott, ich bin noch schwach und klein, 
Laß mich Dein liebes Kindlein sein,
Und mache mich recht gut und fromm
Daß ich zu Deinen Engeln komm! 
Amen.
